Kama,
Just came back from Korea where I walked along the path where Winter Sonata was filmed on Nami Island. With the theme song being played on the speakers in the park, it was so romantic.
Thanks for reliving that memory for me.

PLYM - this is the theme song of a famous Korean TV drama of the same title - Winter Sonata. This drama series (which has since ended) had a huge following in this part of the world. I don't understand the language myself but like to sing the song all the same. Incidentally, the song has been rerecorded in so many Asian languages - Mandarin, Thai, Vietnamese, Malay, Tagalog, Japanese among them...

I was crazy about this song after watching Winter Sonata a couple of years ago. Still love it until today. It never fails to bring a tear or two..

MrsN - Because I hardly watch tv and am not into dramas and telenovelas, I didnt even watch this Korean series. I knew of its existence though, because everybody seemed to be talking about it. I only took notice when I heard the Malay version. I thought it was such a beautiful local composition was was trying to find out songwriter, until it was pointed out that THAT was the signature tune of Winter Sonata!

Isn't it lovely how a song just triggers something deep inside you..you cry, take out old VCDs, remember a face, a place in time...emotions long forgotten and buried.

The song I keep singing now is Dunia Sukanmu by Rahimah Rahim.

And strangely enough - Love Letters in the Sand.

Both inspired by the World Cup season!
