"I Need To Be In Love"

Had she been alive today, Karen Carpenter would be 60, in all probability a grandmother. Sadly, this sweet-voiced singer died age 32 in 1983, of heart failure arising from aneroxia nervosa, then a little-known and understood affliction.

Together with her brother Richard, the duo formed The Carpenters, topping the American music scene in the 1970s, and recording many tracks that remain favourites until today.

Awww Puteri, what brought this on? Great lyrics tho’.

“I know I ask perfection in a quite imperfect world. And fool enough to think that’s what I’ll find”.

I must admit I’m a closet Carpenters’ fan, back in the 70’s, tapi tak rugged lah amongst the boys at that time lah….hehehe.

My favourite is the hit song from the movie ‘Lovers & other strangers’;

For All We Know

TGIF, have a good one.

Karen had a perfect pitch voice...and luckily Carpenters got great songs from great composers Burt Bacharach/Hal david and Paul William. In Malaysia we have Francesca Peters with a perfect pitch voice, but too bad she couldnt find great songs equivalent to Manan Ngah composition...to continue.

Kak Teh - tis too true, she's alive in our thoughts. everyday you hear her songs being played again and again (especially the ones rerecorded by boybands.

AY - you've got it spot on.

D - the lyrics tu bittersweet. They tugs at one's heartstrings.
