Salam kak puteri

Teman memang suka buah berduri ni. Lahir di Perak dan duduk lama di Bagan Datoh dan Teluk Intan, memang ini kejo teman bila datang musim. Dulu, dua tiga biji sekali hadap biasalah. Sebiji isi durian mesti makan dengan nasi, taruh sikit santan, taruh sikit gula. Ramas2 dan gaul dgn tangan. Sedap jgn kira ! Orang2 muda sekarang ni tak suka termasuk anak2. Rugi mereka ni.

Apa yg dikata oleh sdr Wan sharif tu memang betul ! LF pernah bertugas di Tg Malim. Tempat tu memang lubuk durian. Sampai sekarang ni, kalau musim, memang boleh pergi.

Orang kita kena fikirkan apa nak dibuat dengan durian yg byk terbuang tu. Selain drpd buat tempoyak dan lempuk, apa lagi ?

Can't get over the "gh" sound - it's more guttural than what we south of the border use, but less grating than the arabic "gha" - perakians should pick up french quite easily :)

OOohhh bestnya. I love durian, Kak Kama and when I was a little girl, it was a treat to balik kampung and wait for durian jatuh. At the far side of the school's padang there were 3 durian trees. Grandpa being headmaster, lived in the school quarters, a lovely old L-shaped house with a big garden that disappears into the jungle behind.

Your post somehow reminds me of those times, of bakawali blooming in the middle of the night. And the chance discovery of China buried in the garden I thought to be precious Ming.

It was a childhood when you believed in intrigue and adventure (think Nancy Drew!)

..well, we say dughiye in Kelantanese lingo..and it is the time of the year when the flesh of a fresh durian is plonked into a plateful of budu along with a slice of lime, redhot chillies and grilled over charcoal ikan selayang..you mixed it with your thumb and finger...taken with steaming white rice and 'singge ike kembong' and ladies fingers..and for extra effect, 'ule' puchok ketereh and petai..and it was a Friday, and you just got back from Friday prayers..the whole family enjoying the feast, and the cats sniffing at the leftover durian shells left at the kitchen's door..it was a moment of utter joy..
..sorry..got carried away..:) cheers..
