For Faizal, With Love

I went home to Ipoh today. To bury Faizal, the youngest of all my siblings. He was 38 and engaged to be married. His fiancee, Soha, and her parents came all the way from Sungei Petani, Kedah, for the funeral.

Faizal, who was overweight, died yesterday evening of complications arising from diabetes. He was buried at noon, a few feet away from the grave of another brother, Wahab, who died two years ago, age 48.

I have lost two brothers in as many years, both much younger than me. There is nothing much left to say, really. Words have no meaning when you end up burying your kid brothers.

    I hope you are holding up well. I know how it feels, for I too had to say a sudden goodbye to my 15 year-old brother back in 1991. You can't help feeling very sad for the lives they have yet to live.

    My heart weeps along with you my friend.
    This is one of the inevitable and dreaded moments of our lives.
    The death of a sibling with all the cherished memories etched in the minds is so acutely painful.Nak kata apa ye..semua dah di takdirkan.
    I am so extremely sad for you.I hope you sentiasa sihat and dapat sentiasa doakan untuk rohnya supaya tenang dan tidak tersiksa sangat.Semoga rohnya tergolong antara mereka yang kuat beramal salih serta dicucuri rahmat Allah swt.

    Ta'ziah daripada saya kerana kehilangan adik yg tercinta. As someone once said, the living are just dead people on holiday. We shall soon all wend our way towards the hereafter, but to bury someone younger than you is a great sadness, but it is His will, and so shall it be.

    Alfatihah for the deceased and for your other (younger) brother who went before him. May Allah forgive their sins and gather their souls among the solihin, and return them to the abode of al-Jannah. Amin.

Sorry, I've just read your blog just a minute ago, so this condolence came in a little late. Believe me, I know how U feel. Hanya orang yg pernah kematian orang yg tersayang sahaja, yg benar-benar merasai, apa itu kehilangan. Takziah. May Allah give U strength in these difficult times.
